Congress Holds NOLA Hearings

That's Bob Ney to the right....

Ney, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee's housing subcommittee, led members of his panel on a bus tour Friday of the Lower 9th Ward, Lakeview and other devastated New Orleans communities to see the housing situation firsthand.

He later presided over a contentious hearing on housing issues, in which some Democratic members of the subcommittee and New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin criticized what they said continues to be a lackluster federal response to the situation.

I wonder how Bob can keep his mind on NOLA given what's happening to him in Washington .

Rep. Bob Ney’s days as chairman of the House Administration Committee appear numbered, as Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) is considering asking the Republican Conference to oust the Ohioan from his post, GOP sources said Friday.
